Novita Dewi Prays to Continue Jack Marpaung's Musical Legacy for Future Generations

"I can be like this because of the great name that God gave to dad. And my career can be like this, I can become someone, because of the great name dad that God gave," she continued.

"Especially when I sing his songs, I often get choked up. I often, when my dad was still alive, I sang in front of him, I cried," she said.

The passing of her father made Novita feel a sense of loss, but she still wants to keep Jack Marpaung's artistic works alive. She prays to be able to pass on that artistic legacy to the next generation.

"I just pray that I can sing and continue Jack Marpaung's legacy to his grandchildren," said Novita.

Jack Marpaung will be buried on Thursday morning at San Diego Hills Memorial Park, according to the family's request. This location was also approved by Novita Dewi as a form of final tribute.

"Mom's request. As for Dad, anywhere is fine," said Novita.

Jack Marpaung is known as a simple person, far from the impression of luxury in his daily life. This has become an important value that is always remembered by the family, including Novita.

"Dad used to say, 'I don’t need anything extravagant. What I need is for you all to be well, that’s what makes me proud.' Dad never asked for luxury, never," she explained.

"Dad is a simple person. Dad asks for simplicity, and he receives more than just simplicity. So, there’s no need to ask for luxury. I learned a lot from Dad," she continued.

"Who doesn't like money, right? But dad is one example of being genuine, not liking too much luxury, yet God always gives more," Novita expressed.

"I inherited my dad's trait of not liking too much luxury. So, the reason is, it is indeed God's gift," she said.
