Mandra Sends a Special Message to Rano Karno Who is Now the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta

Kapanlagi.com - Mandra, a senior comedian widely known through the soap opera "Si Doel Anak Sekolahan," responded regarding Rano Karno who is now serving as the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta. When met recently in the Kapten Tendean area, Mampang, South Jakarta, he expressed his views and a special message for the actor and politician whom he affectionately calls "Bang Doel."

"Since I started... if we talk about the profession (as an artist), I am a friend. If Doel (from the soap opera) is my nephew. So just interpret that. What is a friend and what is my nephew," Mandra began the conversation in his characteristic style.

Mandra admitted he feels proud of Rano Karno's achievements in entering the political world and successfully becoming the Deputy Mayor of Jakarta. However, for him, the most important thing is the mandate that Rano carries out as a leader.

"If we talk about him representing Doel, then that means he is my nephew. So the prayer from the uncle is just one. Even if he really wants to become a governor or deputy governor, I only hope for him to carry out his duties responsibly," Mandra emphasized.

1. Communication is Not as Intense as Before

As a friend and also "uncle" in the soap opera, Mandra expressed that he does not have excessive expectations of Rano. He just hopes Rano stays healthy and can perform his duties well.

"Regardless of how he is, that's his choice. Hopefully, he is healthy and trustworthy," he added.

However, Mandra also admitted that since Rano entered the political world, their communication has not been as intense as before. After helping Rano during some campaign moments, he chose to keep his distance.

"I have no ulterior motives at all. When I helped during some campaigns, when he won, I have been avoiding him since then," Mandra revealed.

He also admitted to only sending congratulations via text message without meeting Rano directly. "I haven't met him either. The most is just on WhatsApp, congratulations. Nothing more than that," he said.

2. Hope for Rano Karno

Even so, Mandra still provides great hope for Rano as a regional leader in Jakarta. He hopes Rano can fulfill his campaign promises and carry out his duties as best as he can.

"So in relation to that issue, regardless of who becomes the regional leader in Jakarta, I only have one hope: to uphold the trust according to what was promised," Mandra conveyed.

Mandra added that unfulfilled political promises often become commonplace. However, he hopes this does not happen to Rano.

"If we talk about unfulfilled promises, it's commonplace. Even if it has to be that way, it's usually like that. Campaigns are full of promises, so it's almost forgotten, that's normal," he concluded.
