Jessica Iskandar Remembers the Moment Her Father Met His Grandchild Before Passing Away

Kapanlagi.com - The last moment with Hardi Iskandar, Jessica Iskandar's father, became an unforgettable memory. In the midst of his declining health, Hardi still made time to visit his grandchild, Jessica's third child who had just been born.

“He already visited me at the hospital,” Jessica said when met at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto, Jakarta, on Tuesday (31/12/2024).

Even with his remaining strength, Hardi's presence to meet his grandchild was a testament to a love that transcends time. However, Jessica revealed that towards the end of his life, her father had difficulty speaking. Nevertheless, Hardi had imparted many life lessons that he shared with Jessica since she was young.

“Actually, dad was already having a hard time speaking. The messages were most relevant when I was still young. He taught me a lot about understanding life, to stay strong and sane,” Jessica said.

1. Celebrate Christmas Simply

Jessica and Vincent Verhaag's small family also planned this year's Christmas celebration. However, Hardi's declining health made the family decide to focus more on the children and provide a simple Christmas atmosphere.

"No, just Erick and his wife. Because dad wasn't doing very well at that time, we focused more on the kids so they could experience the Christmas vibe. As for a big celebration, no," Vincent explained.

Even without a large celebration, the moments of family togetherness in Hardi's final days remain a cherished memory. The presence of Jessica's children and other grandchildren provided comfort during those difficult times.

2. Ashes Managed According to Family Decision

After the cremation, the father's ashes will be managed according to the decision of the immediate family. Vincent stated that this decision will be agreed upon by all family members.

"It will be the immediate family that decides what to do with it," said Vincent.
