Mandra Reveals His Role as a Father: Staying Close Despite Being Busy

Kapanlagi.com - As a father, Mandra admits to having a relaxed approach while still paying attention to his children's daily lives. He explains that he is not overly protective but ensures that his children are in a safe condition.

"If it gets to that point, no, it means I check where they are, what they are doing, sometimes they are in college, 'who are you coming home with?' like that," Mandra said when met in the Jalan Kapten Tendean area, Mampang, South Jakarta, recently.

Mandra also often makes sure his children come home safely, and sometimes he even goes to pick them up. For him, these moments are a way to stay close to his children.

"Sometimes they are always with their female friends, whoever they are, always being dropped off sometimes. I also often pick them up, 'Let me (pick you up),' like that," he said.

1. Maintaining Boundaries

However, Mandra admits that he maintains boundaries in his relationship with his child's friends. He feels there is no need to be too involved in his child's social circle.

"No way, I know my place. I'm already a father," he said jokingly.

Although his schedule is quite busy, Mandra makes time to drop off his child when possible. He admits he enjoys doing it as a form of closeness with his child.

"Yes. I enjoy it, meaning it's not a hobby related to that matter, there's a feeling, I want to be close to my child," he explained.

2. Waiting for the Child's College

In fact, when his child's college schedule is not too packed, Mandra often chooses to wait at the location until it's over. He does this to ensure his child's comfort.

"Sometimes, (the child says), 'the subjects are not many, just a few', 'well, I’ll just wait then'," he reminisced.

However, Mandra emphasizes that this routine is not a must. If he is busy, the task of dropping off his child can be done by the family driver.

"Well, not necessarily if I'm not too busy, then the driver can do it," he concluded.
