Ariel NOAH and Armand Maulana Mention Ari Bias's Blunder Regarding Agnez Mo

On January 30, 2025, Agnez Mo was found guilty by the Central Jakarta Commercial Court for performing the song 'Bilang Saja' without permission from its creator, Ari Bias. As a result, the hit singer must pay a fine of Rp 1.5 billion as compensation.

However, Agnez did not remain silent; she immediately filed for cassation and expressed her disappointment with the interpretation of the Copyright Law that she deemed detrimental to her.

The case was followed by the emergence of Indonesian musician factions, namely VISI and AKSI. Many questioned why these two factions did not just engage in dialogue? Regarding this, Ariel NOAH and Armand Maulana as representatives of VISI spoke out.

1. Not a Discussion Event

"In fact, from the beginning, we didn't want to avoid talking. But when we were invited, we knew it wasn't a discussion event. It was a promotion for DDL (Digital Direct License)," said Ariel during a chat with detikpop, Thursday (3/7).

For that reason, Armand and Ariel are reluctant to be used. Especially after the lawsuit from Ari Bias against Agnez Mo emerged.

2. Long-Term Effects

"What Ari Bias is doing could have long-term effects," explained Ariel.

VISI is not reluctant to discuss, but the situation is indeed locked by the legal decision that is currently in the cassation stage. According to Armand, if the issue with Ari Bias could be resolved, everything would be easier.

"The blunder of AKSI is really just there," revealed Armand.
