Andrew Andika along with five of his associates, has been arrested by the Narcotics Unit of the West Jakarta Metro Police for involvement in a case of narcotics abuse involving methamphetamine. The arrests took place on September 26, 2024, in two different locations, namely Bogor and South Jakarta.
During the investigation, evidence was found to be under 1 gram, prompting the police to refer to SEMA (Supreme Court Circular) to conduct an assessment on Andrew and his five associates.
"Regarding the six suspects, based on existing regulations and SEMA regulations concerning evidence under 1 gram, we conducted assessments on all six suspects," said the Head of the Narcotics Unit of the West Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Chandra Mata Rohansyah, during a press conference on Tuesday (1/10/2024).
The results of the assessment conducted indicate that they are categorized as having a moderate addiction. "The overall results are categorized as moderate addiction. Therefore, the recommendation states that they should undergo inpatient rehabilitation at a rehab facility," added Chandra.
The Deputy Chief of West Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Teuku Arsya Khadafi, explained further about the process undergone by the suspects. The six individuals will undergo an assessment at BNNP (National Narcotics Agency of the Province) and the police will continue to monitor the development of this case.
"For the individuals we have secured, an assessment process is being conducted at BNNP. Then, based on the assessment results, they fall into the category of moderate addiction, which in the future we will rehabilitate first, while we observe further developments from the rehab center," explained Arsya.
Although this is their first time being caught for drug abuse cases, the assessment results indicate a fairly high level of dependence.
"Of the six people we secured, this is their first time being caught related to drug and psychotropic abuse. However, based on the assessment results, they have already entered the moderate addiction category," said Arsya.
It was reported that Andrew Andika along with his colleagues, two women and three men, were secured by the West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit on Thursday (26/9). Andrew Andika and his five friends were arrested in two locations, namely in Bogor and South Jakarta.
The police had informed that during the arrest, besides Andrew Andika who is an artist, there was one more person who has a profession as an influencer. Unfortunately, among the five people, it is not known who it is.
