Kapanlagi.com - The divorce of the couple Asri Welas and Galiech Ridha Rahardja was officially decided at the Religious Court of Depok, West Java, on Thursday (23/1/2025). This ruling comes a month before their 16th wedding anniversary. After a long process, both agreed to end the marriage amicably, although they could not hide their mixed emotions.
After the trial, Galiech expressed how heavy the moment was. “Yes, it is very unfortunate, since this morning I have felt uneasy. It turns out that on the way it was heavy, very heavy, very emotional, especially when the children's names were mentioned,” he said with a trembling voice.
Galiech reminisced about their married life, which had been blessed with three children. The moments when the children were born and grew up together became unforgettable memories.
“I hope for the best for my children, yes for Ms. Asri. The 16th of this year will not be forgotten, it will always be in my life of course,” he added.
Although full of emotion, the decision to divorce has been carefully considered by both. Galiech acknowledged that this separation is a mutual decision based on long considerations.
“This is already our mutual decision, we have thought it through carefully. We have also tried to maintain it, but indeed Allah has determined that we divorce first, so it is very unfortunate,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Asri revealed that the problems in their marriage have been going on for quite some time. She mentioned that they have tried to fix their relationship with the help of a family psychologist for the past few years.
“The incident happened 4-5 years ago. You already know what happened. Mr. Galiech also knows. This has been thought about for 4-5 years, and we have been to a family psychologist for 4-5 years as well. So that’s it,” said the 44-year-old woman.
Galiech also admitted that the moment of divorce feels heavier because it is close to February, the month when they usually celebrate their wedding anniversary.

“I know next month is February, where we usually celebrate our anniversary, but we are no longer allowed to be together. But thank you for the process that was quite back and forth, but finally today it can be resolved and it feels mixed,” he said.
He admitted feeling relieved yet sad after the divorce verdict was read by the judge. “On one hand, it’s okay that it’s over, but on the other hand, it turns out it’s not easy. When the verdict was read, it was not as easy as I thought. I have to accept all of this,” he said in a soft tone.
Although they are officially separated, both emphasized the importance of maintaining a good relationship for the sake of their children. Asri and Galiech agreed to continue providing full love to their children even though they no longer live together.
