Assessment Granted a Month Ago, Ammar Zoni Hopes to Enter Rehabilitation This Week

Kapanlagi.com - The Panel of Judges of the West Jakarta District Court has granted the rehabilitation assessment requested by Ammar Zoni. However, up to this month, the father of two has not undergone the decision and is still detained at Salemba Prison, Central Jakarta.

Therefore, Ammar Zoni's representative lawyer, Jon Mathias, questioned why his client has not undergone rehabilitation yet in order to completely eliminate his dependence on drugs. He conveyed this during Ammar's drug case trial.

"We also asked about the integrated assessment that we submitted, why hasn't it been implemented by the Public Prosecutor's Office for a month," said Jon after the trial on Tuesday (9/7/2024).

1. Hope for Rehabilitation

After asking about this matter to the Judges of the West Jakarta District Court, Jon is grateful because it is likely that Ammar will undergo rehabilitation in the near future. However, he still does not know exactly when.

"Only the judge stated that the judge's decision must be implemented, Alhamdulillah it must be implemented by the Public Prosecutor's Office this week," said Jon.

Since the rehabilitation is granted by the court and not by the police, the cost of carrying it out is borne by Ammar. However, Jon admitted that he still does not know the actual procedure regarding the cost.

"But as for how much the cost is, I don't know yet. The assessment is carried out during the examination stage at the police, and there will be a new decision because it is not done at the police level," he explained.

"That's why we requested it and the Court granted it. But now it hasn't been implemented yet. The judge also asked the prosecutor to implement it. So we'll see this week, we'll coordinate with the BNN or BNNP," Jon added.

2. No Problem with Paying for It Myself

If the cost really has to be paid for by myself, Ammar also doesn't mind it too much. However, as far as he knows, the government should be responsible for covering the rehabilitation costs.

"Actually, we don't mind the cost. The cost is not expensive, the expert assessment and medical information are free," explained Jon.

"There shouldn't be any. This is the first assessment in court, I don't think there should be any cost either," Jon concluded.
