"Actually, I didn't plan to give a gift this year, but my mom is planning to go for umrah. So my mom said, 'just consider that my gift'," Ayu revealed when met in the Kebon Jeruk area, West Jakarta, some time ago.
Regarding the 'money cake' that contains Rp50 thousand bills, Ayu clarified that it was not a gift from her alone. The money was a contribution from the entire extended family who participated in the vacation.
"Oh, that's just something we usually do for birthdays to add a bit of happiness, you know, receiving cash like that. It’s actually a pooled gift from the extended family," she explained.
Ayu recounted how her aunts, uncles, and even cousins took the initiative to collect money as an additional gift for Umi Kalsum.
"All the aunts contributed, including us kids, all the cousins, who went in on the contribution there. In the end, the money was taken out by Mom," she added.
