Baby Wrapped in Umbilical Cord, Randy Pangalila's Wife Must Have Cesarean Section Despite 8 cm Dilation

Kapanlagi.com - Randy Pangalila admitted that he didn't sleep all day because he accompanied his wife Chelsey Frank's childbirth process. The 30-year-old man is grateful, after going through a long process, their baby girl named Blair Willow Pangalila was born safely on March 24, 2021.

The star of the movie KUCUMBU TUBUH INDAHKU shared the chronology before Chelsey gave birth. Contractions experienced by his wife occurred in the early morning and she was immediately taken to a hospital in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta.

1. Late Night to the Hospital

"The day before, we were still awake at 1 in the morning. Chelsey woke me up, she felt sick and had cramps, so we immediately went to RS Bunda Jakarta. My house is in Bekasi and it's not close, but luckily because it was 3 in the morning, the roads were clear," he said when met in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, Friday (26/3).

When we arrived at the hospital, his wife was about to enter the three-centimeter dilation. Randy continued to encourage his wife.

"When we entered here (the hospital), we immediately went to the delivery room, still preparing for the three-centimeter dilation, and starting at half past four (in the morning), Chelsey started to experience pain. I accompanied her, giving her support and comforting her, because that's all I could do, calming her down so she could relax," he said.

2. Umbilical Cord Entanglement

Unfortunately, at eight centimeters dilation, it was discovered that the baby's umbilical cord was wrapped around its neck. As a result, the process that was originally going smoothly immediately turned into a cesarean section.

"Actually, it's a bit pitiful because if we had planned for a cesarean section from the beginning, we wouldn't have to wait until eight centimeters dilation. Contractions up to eight centimeters are very painful, she struggled for six hours to endure the pain. Moreover, Chelsea hadn't eaten during the dilation process," explained Randy Pangalila.

3. Forgot to Eat

The baby was finally born around 09:54 WIB. However, the Cinta Fitri soap opera actor could only see his child at 13:00 WIB due to several conditions.

"Finally, the caesarean section was completed at 9:54, we haven't checked the baby yet, not everything. Bookkeeping, room transfer, we could only see the baby at 1 pm. We didn't sleep at all, but the feeling of tiredness and lack of sleep disappeared. We even forgot to eat from three in the morning until three in the afternoon. That's something I won't forget, the moment," Randy Pangalila concluded.
