Badai Claims He Has Never Received Royalties and Economic Benefits from the Song 'I STILL LOVE YOU'

Behind the loss of his name as the creator of the song I Still Love You, Badai also touches on the issue of economic rights or royalties that he has never significantly felt from that song for years.

This hit songwriter feels doubly disadvantaged, because aside from his name not being recognized, the earnings that should rightfully belong to him as a creator seem to have evaporated into thin air. He regrets that, with the inclusion of someone else's name as the creator, the economic benefits automatically do not flow to him.

"With Rayen's name included as the creator, I myself actually feel that when talking about the economic benefits of the song, I should also be feeling the royalties, just like that," said Badai at Al Barkat Carpet, Fatmawati, South Jakarta, on Monday (28/7/2025).

"I do feel the economic benefits, but until today the reporting that was supposedly reported to Nagaswara when I created this song, which was in 2016, while I was still with Nagaswara publishing, I have never felt the royalties significantly," added Badai.

After sending a formal notice, the label has indeed changed the creator's name back to Badai on digital platforms. However, for Badai, this action is still not enough to resolve the issue. He emphasized that the label has not shown good faith to meet and discuss this matter amicably until now.

"Previously, we have given PT Halo Entertainment Indonesia the opportunity to resolve this matter amicably. We have provided time, even given the chance for PT Halo Entertainment Indonesia to set a schedule for a meeting. However, until now, PT Halo Entertainment Indonesia has not shown any good faith to resolve this issue," he said.

"So our intention with this press conference is to issue an open summons to PT Halo Entertainment Indonesia. We request a response, we ask for clarification, because in accordance with the law and regulations, any violation of moral rights has its sanctions, and this is not just my statement, but the Copyright Law speaking," he asserted.

The storm also compared this case with previous experiences with other labels, where similar issues could be resolved well and professionally without the need for prolonged drama. He hopes that PT Halo Entertainment Indonesia can emulate that attitude. He shared that experience as a conclusion.
