Kapanlagi.com - Deep sorrow enveloped the extended family of Baim Wong following the passing of his father, Johnny Wong, who passed away on Tuesday (1/7/2025) at 04:27 AM at Abdi Waluyo Hospital, Central Jakarta. At the funeral home located in the Gondangdia area, Central Jakarta, several friends and colleagues were present to pay their last respects, including actor Rionaldo Stockhorst.
When met, Rionaldo shared a story about Baim Wong's state of mind amid the deep sorrow he felt. "Baim is obviously very grieving, but he mentioned earlier that the deceased was said to have many thoughts or something, so maybe he didn't smile much," said Rionaldo.
Despite being in a state of mourning, Baim managed to express a moment that brought him some comfort amid the sadness. "Baim feels it's difficult to make his father smile, whether because of his condition or what. But on the other hand, Baim is happy because on his father's last day, he smiled," added Rionaldo.
Rionaldo also mentioned that Baim has a positive perspective on the moment. "On his last day, Baim is happy because his father smiled. So on one side it's sad, but Baim is also happy. Maybe he hopes this is a good sign," he said.
When asked if Rionaldo had a chance to inquire further about Johnny Wong's health condition before he passed away, he answered briefly. “I didn’t have the chance to ask, being a guest, you know,” said the actor known for various soap operas.
Rionaldo also admitted that he hadn’t had the chance to visit Johnny Wong while he was hospitalized. "I really haven’t had the chance," he said regretfully.
Despite this, Rionaldo saw the resilience in Baim amidst this sorrowful atmosphere. "You could say he is strong. If he is sad, that’s understandable, being left by a father is very natural," he said.
Johnny Wong was known to have undergone intensive treatment at RS Abdi Waluyo for 20 days in December 2024. At that time, he was reported to often vomit every time he tried to eat. However, until now, the family has not provided an official statement regarding the cause of Johnny's death.
Johnny Wong's body is planned to be buried in Purwakarta, West Java. The departure of Baim Wong's father is certainly a great loss, not only for the family but also for relatives and friends who knew him.
