For a long time, Pevita Pearce has been known as an English-Indonesian mixed artist. Her father, Bramwell James Leonard Pearce, is from Wales, England, while her mother, Ernie Auliasari, is originally from Banjarmasin, Indonesia. Although she grew up in a multicultural family, Pevita remains curious about her ancestral roots in more detail.

"Because I have a lot of mixed heritage, I want to see where my roots are," Pevita revealed on the Youtube channel Jeda Nulis.

To obtain accurate DNA test results, Pevita took a test using a saliva sample sent to a laboratory in the United States.

Interestingly, despite having a foreign-looking face, Pevita's DNA test results actually show a dominance of genetic traits from her mother. After finding this out, Pevita became increasingly aware that her face and character are indeed more similar to her mother from Banjarmasin. Interestingly, at the same opportunity, Pevita admitted that she has never been to Banjarmasin at all.

3. Dominance of Southeast Asian Genes

In detail, Pevita Pearce explains the results of the DNA test she conducted. It turns out that according to the DNA test, Pevita has ancestry predominantly from Southeast Asia.

Pevita revealed that 40% of her DNA comes from Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Meanwhile, the genetic heritage from her father, which is English and Scandinavian, only contributes about 20%.

4. DNA Test Reveals Papua and Indian Ancestry

Most surprisingly, Pevita's DNA test results also revealed that she has Papua and Indian ancestry in her blood. She has 5% Papua ancestry and 2% from India.
