Becoming an Environmental Volunteer, Manohara is Inspired by People Who Dedicate Their Lives to Preserving Forests

Having not appeared much on screen, Manohara Odelia Pinot has spent most of her time volunteering in the field of environmental conservation and animal welfare. She has been engaged in this activity since 2017 as a form of her concern for Indonesia's natural wealth.

Manohara admits to having a great interest in the preservation of tropical rainforests and Indonesia's endemic wildlife. According to her, the natural wealth that Indonesia possesses must be collectively preserved to remain sustainable.

The 34-year-old woman claims that activities in nature are the best way to recharge her energy. However, what stands out most for her is meeting people who dedicate their lives to preserving the forests.

"If it's for the environment, I have been an active volunteer for the environment and animals since 2017. So it's been quite a while, and yeah, something that's very important," said Manohara when met in the Senayan area on Sunday (5/7/2026).

"Yes, for sure, it's about recharging energy because it's not just about going to nature and seeing the animals, but what always leaves an impression on me is the people who dedicate their lives to protect that. And that's so inspiring to see," she said.

Even though she is only involved as a volunteer, the experience has made Manohara increasingly understand the importance of preserving Indonesia's natural wealth. She hopes that the public will not only be proud to have rainforests and rare wildlife but also take part in conserving them.

"In my opinion, Indonesia is very rich in nature. We have the second largest rainforest in the world, and I hope that we are not just a nation that possesses that wealth but also takes care of it. And I think that is very important, including Indonesia's unique fauna that only exists in Indonesia," she explained.

Manohara believes that education about conservation needs to be continuously promoted so that more people care about environmental conditions."So we have to keep those treasures, and it is very important to raise these issues so that more people know about what is happening right now," concluded Manohara.
