The comedian Bedu's move to end his 15-year marriage has now officially begun in court. Accompanied by his lawyer, Bedu appeared strong as he attended the first hearing of his divorce petition at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Tuesday (30/09/2025), despite the absence of his wife, Anggie.

Anggie's absence as the respondent forced the mediation agenda, which was supposed to pave the way for a peaceful resolution, to be postponed by the panel of judges.

After the hearing, Dendi Finsa, the lawyer, revealed the main reason behind his client's decision to separate. According to him, the rift occurred because there was no longer any shared principles that could unite them.

"The reason is that their visions and missions no longer align. Continuous disputes cannot create a family that is sakinah, mawadah, warahmah as they both desired when they got married," he stated when met at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Tuesday (30/09/2025).

Furthermore, Dendi Finsa emphasized that this divorce is the result of a mutual agreement between Bedu and his wife.

Both are committed to ending their 15-year marriage peacefully, for the greater good, especially for their children.

"Thus, a mutual agreement was reached to co-parent the children by separating," he added.

This divorce process is believed to be the best way out that must be taken. Although it is difficult, the comedian, whose real name is Harabdu, has firmly made his decision.

The court will also reschedule the summons for the next hearing, which will be held in two weeks.
