Bedu Feels Unlucky, Not a Failure, Asks Media Not to Corner Him

Facing the divorce process after 15 years of marriage, comedian Bedu continues to strive to be strong and occasionally throws jokes to lighten the mood. However, behind that, there is a sincere request for the public not to judge his decision.

When met at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Tuesday (30/09/2025), Bedu was reluctant to be called a failed head of the household. He prefers the term "unlucky" to describe his current marital situation.

"If being the head of the household, I don’t feel like a failure, I just feel unlucky. There’s a difference between failure and being unlucky," he said.

According to him, feeling unlucky still opens up opportunities to try again and improve oneself in the future, unlike the word failure which seems to be a dead end.

"If you feel unlucky, you can try again. If you fail, you can actually try again too... Well, actually this is the test of life," Bedu continued wisely.

This news of his divorce is quite shocking to the public, considering that his marriage has been far from any negative gossip. Bedu also admitted that this issue has been going on for a long time, but he and his wife managed to cover it up.

In the midst of the complicated situation he is facing, Bedu also made a joke when he met his colleague, Andre Taulany, who seemed to welcome him to the same 'club'. "Last night I met Andre, and suddenly he greeted me. 'Congratulations', congratulations for what? 'Congratulations, same office'," he recounted while laughing.

However, at the end of the conversation, Bedu made a sincere request to the media crew. He hoped that there would be no news narrative that cornered him or his wife, as it could worsen the atmosphere that they have been trying to build well.
