Bella Shofie Resigns from DPRD Member, Expresses Apology

Kapanlagi.com - After the homes of Ahmad Sahroni and Uya Kuya were besieged by crowds, as well as apologies from Eko Patrio and Nafa Urbach to the Indonesian public, Bella Shofie announces that she has resigned from the DPRD member of Buru Regency, Maluku.

"I, Bella Shofie Rigan, inform the public that as of August 14, I have officially resigned as a member of the DPRD of Buru Regency and here is the proof that I have submitted my resignation letter to the DPW NasDem Party of Maluku," she wrote on Instagram, on Sunday (21/8).

1. Apology Statement

In a post on her personal Instagram, Bella Shofie also expressed her apologies to the public for not being able to continue her duties in politics.

"However, I will not stop serving the people of Buru Regency through social activities," she continued.

2. Proof of Resignation Letter

Bella Shofie posted proof of her resignation letter as a member of the Buru Regency DPRD from the National Democratic Party. Bella revealed that this decision was the result of a long contemplation between the call of duty and her conscience.

"In the midst of the public mandate's clamor, there is a soft voice calling from home, the voice of a child who needs love and attention that cannot be replaced. To answer that call, I choose to step aside, not only to uphold my family's mandate but also to maintain the honor, dignity, and esteem of the NasDem Party," she wrote.

3. No Pressure or Coercion

Bella Shofie believes that her resignation is a form of loyalty, to ensure that the people's mandate is carried out by those who have the time and energy to fully commit. There is no pressure or coercion regarding Bella's resignation as a member of the DPRD

"Even though I will no longer serve as a member of the DPRD in the future, as a cadre of the NasDem Party, I am ready to be called back at any time to contribute my energy and thoughts for the Party and the community," she explained

4. Never Attended Meetings for Almost a Year

Previously, Bella Shofie was pressured to resign from her position as a member of the DPRD because she had not attended any plenary meetings or other meetings for almost a year since her inauguration in September 2024.

On August 6, 2025, a group of protesters from the Buru Student Youth Movement staged a demonstration in front of the Buru Regency DPRD office. They demanded that Bella Shofie, a DPRD member from the NasDem Party, be immediately removed from her position for failing to perform her duties as a representative of the people.
