Appearing to the Public, Eko Patrio Apologizes for Dancing in the DPR Building

Eko Patrio is in the spotlight following a viral video of him dancing in the DPR RI building after the annual MPR session some time ago. Netizens claim that Eko's dancing amidst the difficult conditions faced by the public is not ethical.

Although he has clarified that he danced not because of an increase in allowances but to show appreciation for the orchestra that performed, netizens continue to demand that Eko meet with the public directly and apologize.

On Saturday (30/08) night, Eko Patrio finally appeared and conveyed his apology through a post on his social media, accompanied by Pasha Ungu.

Through his post on Saturday (30/08) night, Eko Patrio apologized to the Indonesian people for everything that happened. The 54-year-old man also took this as a lesson for himself.

"Bismillahirahmanirahim, with this I express my deepest apologies to the Indonesian people. This incident has become a very valuable lesson for me personally, and I am committed to becoming a better person," wrote Eko Patrio in his post.

Accompanied by Pasha Ungu, who is a colleague from the same party, Eko also expressed his apologies verbally through a video that was uploaded.

"Thank you, Mas Pasha. Assalamualaikum wr wb. Greetings to us all. With all humility, I, Eko Patrio, express my deepest apologies to the public for the unrest caused by my actions," said Eko.

"I have heard all the aspirations of the community regarding the disappointment that exists, I fully realize that this situation brings pain to the families of the victims who have lost loved ones, as well as those who suffer from the clashes that occurred," he continued.

"Not for a moment did I have the intention to worsen the situation. Certainly, in the future, I will be more careful in my actions and also in expressing my opinions," he added.

"I am committed to sincerely fulfilling my role as a representative of the people with sincerity, courage, and to uphold the oath I have pledged. I hope this apology can be accepted, and also serve as a reminder for me to continue improving myself in carrying out the mandate given. Let us together nurture the unity and peace of the nation," concluded this husband of Viona.
