Billy Syahputra Tells the Drama of Bringing His Child Home to Belarus for the First Time

Becoming a parent brings unforgettable new experiences for Billy Syahputra and his wife, Vika Kolesnaya. Recently, the couple took their son to visit Vika's hometown in Belarus for the first time, a long journey filled with challenges and emotions.

The journey to Belarus was not easy for the small family. In addition to facing a cross-continental trip lasting over a day, Billy and Vika also had to deal with their child's health condition, which had declined due to the differences in weather and climate.

Billy revealed that the journey from Indonesia to his wife's hometown took up to 31 hours. The trip included a flight from Indonesia to Abu Dhabi, followed by a flight to Russia, then Minsk, and finally a land journey to Vika's hometown.

Although exhausting, the younger brother of the late Olga Syahputra is grateful because his child showed extraordinary resilience during the journey. However, there was one moment that made him and Vika panic.

"Oh yes, that's true. It was full of drama, friends. About two months ago, we flew together with our small family, yes with my child to Belarus. It was a very long journey, because it wasn't just crossing countries, it was crossing continents," said Billy Syahputra when met in the Kuningan area of South Jakarta, Saturday (27/6).

Billy admitted that he was shocked when his child had a high fever during the trip. The situation became even more difficult because the location they were passing through was far from the city center and surrounded by forests. "I was just shocked when my child was sick, had a high fever, and was vomiting from the nose and mouth," said Billy.

Vika Kolesnaya's husband explained that he was confused about finding a hospital because the land journey to his wife's hometown passed through areas with limited health facilities. "Wow, the land journey was like on the right and left there were forests for 4 hours. From the airport to her village, there are indeed rarely any settlements. So I was confused with Vika about the hospital," he revealed.

Fortunately, after several hours of travel, they found a pharmacy that sold medicine to reduce their child's fever. Their child's condition slowly improved even though he had previously experienced a body temperature of up to 39.6 degrees.

Despite being colored by various dramas, Billy remains grateful because his child was not very fussy during the long journey. According to him, the little one only cried occasionally due to hunger or a diaper that needed changing. "Alhamdulillah so far during the trip everything has been fine and there have been no obstacles. Although the drama was like my child getting sick at 39.6, the mother cried. I was also really sad about it," concluded Billy.
