Called Involved in Online Prostitution in Lampung, Vernita Sabilla Speaks Out

When met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, recently Vernita admitted that she did not engage in online prostitution as accused. She only works to accompany someone who has business there.

"Yes, that's the one who welcomed the businessman, S's friend (alleged pimp), who wanted to meet an artist to chat and eat. I wasn't asked to sing," Vernita Syabilla explained.

Vernita mentioned that her job was only for a few hours and after that, she was allowed to go home. She emphasized that she only accompanied clients.

"But not for that kind of service. Just like eating, going out, chatting, even with this person S after finishing talking. Because (he) likes beautiful artists, 'After that, you can go home'. What time does the plane arrive (on that night)? Finally, I went home the next morning. Finally, I was bought a plane ticket at 9 in the morning. It didn't even last a day, maybe just a few hours, just getting to know each other," she said.

2. Just Broke Up with Boyfriend

When she was first offered the job, Vernita Syabilla admitted that she was tempted because she was paid IDR 20 million. Moreover, during the COVID-19 pandemic, her income decreased because there were no other jobs coming, and this job was the first time she took it, she had never gotten this job before because of various reasons.

"For the past 5 years, I had a boyfriend and he was quite possessive. I couldn't go anywhere unless with my friends. Now we've broken up, just broke up during Corona," she said.

3. Caught in a Hotel Room

As it is known, Vernita was apprehended by the Lampung Police in a hotel room with a man on Tuesday (28/7/2020) night. At that time, the police found contraceptives in the hotel room, but Vernita denied that the contraceptives were hers and claimed that she was not involved in prostitution because she was menstruating.

Regarding the Rp 30 million mentioned by the police, Vernita Syabilla admitted that she was confused. She did not know where that information came from.

"I was shocked when the statement mentioned the discovery of contraceptives and Rp 30 million and evidence of a transfer. Clearly, that money was not transferred to my account, it was transferred to that girl. Did someone transfer Rp 20 million to me? Now I've become a suspect. So, it was not found in my place. The news is confusing," she concluded.
