Chand Kelvin Tells About Dea Sahirah's Role as a New Mother: Extraordinary, I'm Amazed by Her Struggles

"Honestly, I am really amazed by Dea. From pregnancy, contractions, to giving birth naturally without anesthesia. I accompanied her from start to finish, and it was truly amazing," said Chand when met at RSIA Tambak, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Thursday, (15/5/2025). 

Chand admitted to witnessing Dea's struggle to endure pain for dozens of hours before finally giving birth to their first child naturally. He even described that moment as the most emotional experience of his life.

"Yes, I cried watching her struggle like that. I knew she was in so much pain, but she remained strong. She didn't stop reciting prayers and dhikr. That made me love and respect her even more," Chand continued in a soft voice.

According to Chand, the changes Dea experienced were not only physical but also mental. He saw the maternal side in his wife that had never been visible during their dating period or the early days of their marriage.

"After becoming a mother, she became softer but also stronger. Sometimes I feel embarrassed, she can stay up late, breastfeed, and still smile. Meanwhile, sometimes I can barely carry the baby for a moment and already feel sore," he said with a smile.

Chand feels very lucky to have Dea as his life partner. He believes that the role of a mother is truly extraordinary and deserves to be appreciated more deeply by husbands.   "Before, I might not have understood how hard it is to be a mother. But now, seeing it firsthand, I realize that mothers are really amazing. I am very grateful to have a wife like Dea," he said.

He is also committed to always accompanying and supporting his wife, not only as a husband but also as a friend and partner in raising their child.   "I have learned a lot from Dea. And I promise to always be there for her and our child. This is a new journey that is not easy, but beautiful," Chand concluded with emotion.
