Change the Lyrics of the Song 'Aisyah Istri Rasulullah', a Young Man Arrested for Alleged Religious Abuse

1. Arrested for Changing the Lyrics

According to Kumparan.com, a young man with the initial B in Surabaya was apprehended after changing the lyrics of the song Aisyah Istri Rasulullah. According to Kanit Resmob Polrestabes Surabaya Iptu Arief Rizky Wicaksana, B was arrested on Thursday morning (16/4/2020).

The arrest occurred after B's video singing the song Aisyah Istri Rasulullah with altered lyrics went viral. He changed the lyrics from 'main lari-lari' (playing and running) to 'minum anggur merah' (drinking red wine).

He is suspected of insulting the Islamic religion.

2. Without Resistance

In the circulating arrest video, B was captured at his house without resistance. He was escorted by several officers towards a police car.
B was also surrounded by a crowd shouting takbir and salawat. B himself has made a video and apologized for what he has done.

"I apologize for making a video that insults religion while wearing a Persebaya jersey and bringing a drink. My entire extended family and I apologize for having blasphemed religion. I will not do it again, I will not engage in such conversations again," said B.

3. Currently Under Investigation

Meanwhile, according to Iptu Arief, they are still investigating B's motives and intentions for changing the lyrics. "The person in question is currently at the Surabaya Metropolitan Police Headquarters. The cyber unit is still investigating this case," he concluded.
