Chronology of Ari Bias's New Lawsuit Against Agnez Mo, Copyright Issues in 3 Concerts

The copyright dispute between musician Ari Bias and international singer Agnez Mo has entered a new chapter. After the Supreme Court annulled the fine of IDR 1.5 billion against Adam Rosyadi's girlfriend, Ari Bias's side took further legal action.

Ari Bias is known to have filed a new lawsuit in the Central Jakarta District Court. The main issue this time still relates to the use of the hit song Bilang Saja performed by Agnez Mo in a series of commercial events without the creator's permission.

1. Core of the Lawsuit

The spokesperson for the Central Jakarta District Court, Sunoto, explained the essence of the lawsuit that has been officially registered through the court's electronic system. "Yes, it is to rectify it, yes. So the essence of the lawsuit, I convey this, the Plaintiff is suing the Defendant for copyright infringement in the form of economic rights and moral rights of the creator," said Sunoto to the media crew on Monday (1/12/2025).

2. Ari Feels Aggrieved

The infringement allegedly occurred in three major cities in Indonesia in 2023. The plaintiff feels aggrieved because their work was displayed commercially without permission or attribution of the name.

"The Defendant held 3 concerts, yes, 3 commercial concerts from May 25 to 27 in 2023 in Surabaya, Jakarta, and Bandung. Which featured a song titled 'Bilang Saja' created by the Plaintiff, without permission and without crediting the Plaintiff as the creator. So that is the essence of their position, yes," explained Sunoto.

4. The Lawsuit Has Been Filed Since November

This lawsuit has been officially recorded since last November. Sunoto confirmed that the entire registration process was conducted according to the digital procedures applicable in the court.

"So it was registered on November 21, 2025. Registered on November 21... yes, registered on November 21, registered 136. Okay?," Sunoto confirmed the case registration date.

6. The Court Has Appointed a Special Judge

Regarding the person who will adjudicate this case, the court has appointed a competent commercial specialist judge to handle the intellectual property dispute.

"For the case of Agnes Monica, if I'm not mistaken, the Chief Justice is from the Commercial Court, so the judge must also be a specialist in Commercial matters. If I'm not mistaken, the Chief Justice is Mr. Ahmad Rashid Purba," he concluded.
