Continuing to Bring the Case to Court, Adam Deni's Side Says Ahmad Sahroni Only Gives Apologies in Words

Kapanlagi.com - Social media activist Adam Deni is scheduled to undergo the first trial of violation of the Information and Electronic Transactions Act (UU ITE) against the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Ahmad Sahroni, on Monday (7/3). In relation to this matter, Adam Deni's legal counsel, Herwanto, regrets Ahmad Sahroni's attitude.

Because Ahmad Sahroni still brings this matter to the courtroom. Whereas the NasDem Party politician has already apologized to his client. Therefore, Adam Deni's party considers Ahmad Sahroni's apology to be only in words.

"According to us, it seems to be only in words," said Herwanto to the media at the North Jakarta District Court, Monday (7/3).

"Because if there is indeed a request for forgiveness, this matter is actually not a matter of revenge, but it turns out that this matter has reached the court," he continued.

1. Never Forgive

Not only that, Herwanto believes that there has never been forgiveness from Ahmad Sahroni. Because if his client has been forgiven, then the legal process will not continue, especially to the court.

"Actually, forgiveness doesn't exist. Even in the circular letter from the Chief of Police, if the perpetrator has apologized and shown remorse, there is no need to detain him anymore. So, what's the importance of this case going to court?" he said.

2. Trial Postponed

It was previously known that Adam Deni would have his first trial for his case with the vice chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission III, Ahmad Sahroni, on Monday (7/3). The indictment reading trial was supposed to be held at the North Jakarta District Court.

Adam's girlfriend and mother were present accompanied by their legal team. Unfortunately, the trial had to be postponed because the Public Prosecutor's Office claimed that they had not received the official letter determining the trial date.

Therefore, the prosecutor did not bring Adam to the trial this time.

"We have not received the trial date determination letter from the North Jakarta District Court," said prosecutor Dyofa Yudistira.

"Therefore, we have not prepared the summons for the defendant yet," he continued.

However, the chief judge emphasized that the day had indeed been set as the first trial date for the Adan Deni case. However, the judge understood the situation.

4. Completeness of the File Examined

Then, the judge examined the completeness of Adam's lawyer's files. In addition, the judge ensured whether the indictment had been received by Adam or not. The prosecutor then stated that they had already delivered the indictment letter to the defendants.

"For the indictment letter for Adam Deni, we have sent it directly to the defendant. For I Made, it has been taken directly by the legal team," said Dyofa.

5. Has Not Received Letter

In addition, Adam's lawyer admitted that he has not received the indictment letter, but apparently the indictment was directly handed to Adam. Afterwards, the judge decided to postpone the trial and asked the prosecutor to bring Adam to the hearing next week.

"We will postpone this case hearing and will resume it on Monday, March 14, 2022. If the criminal case is scheduled for the afternoon, so don't come too early. Take a break first," the judge concluded.
