Danar Widianto Reveals the Meaning Behind the Song "Perjalanan", Questioning Whether Tomorrow Will Still Be Alive or Not

During a visit to the Kapanlagi Youniverse office, the singer who was a finalist in the third season of X Factor Indonesia shared the story behind the song that was written since last year.

"This travel song is still about the question of what am I going to do tomorrow, am I still alive tomorrow. Then there are so many questions that I may not be able to answer because it's still in the future," said Danar, Thursday (26/10/2023).

"And with another interpretation, this song implies that our lives in this world are not just about us but how we can be useful to others. And at the end of every journey, there will always be a new journey," added Danar.

The song "Perjalanan" was written by Danar together with his friend, Tio Satrio, and then arranged by senior musician, Dede Kumala. This singer from Purwokerto explained that the song is very simple.

"This song is made as simple as possible, why is it made as simple as possible because it still tells a story with simplicity. And also to deliver the message in this song more effectively," he said.  

Like his previous singles, Danar still chooses the folk genre for "Perjalanan". According to him, the folk genre is more capable of storytelling and delivering messages effectively to the listeners.  

"Because folk tells stories. The folk genre tells stories, delivers messages in the song effectively, and can reach the listeners," he said.

However, he emphasizes that "Perjalanan" is different from previous songs that focused more on love and romance. This time, the song focuses more on life, human journey, spirit, and the potential to fulfill other people's dreams.

"Maybe the previous third single was still about love and romance, the hustle and bustle of the relationship between two adults. This one is more about life, about the human side where there are many journeys to be taken and spirits," he said.

"Maybe our dreams can be broken but maybe we can also fulfill other people's dreams through us," he concluded.
