Davina Karamoy Reveals the Biggest Challenge in the Film 'IF TIME COULD BE REPEATED'

Davina Karamoy greets Indonesian film lovers again through IF TIME COULD BE REPEATED. In the film directed by Muhammad Amrul Ummami, the actress born on August 17, 2002, is entrusted to portray Dinar, a quiet woman who must face various life challenges.

Although Dinar's character is filled with emotional scenes, Davina admits that it was not that part that was the most difficult for her. According to her, the biggest challenge arose when building the character from the reading process with all the cast members.

"So if asked whether it was hard or not, thank God it went smoothly, it wasn't that difficult. It was indeed the reading process that drained a lot of energy to break down Dinar's character as much as possible," said Davina in the Pinang Ranti area, East Jakarta, on Friday (26/6/2026).

After understanding Dinar's character, another challenge arose when she had to act alongside Farhan Rasyid. The two are known to be close off set, making it often difficult to hold back laughter when they have to appear as a couple in front of the camera.

"The challenge is to hold back laughter, that's for me. Sometimes I switch off to Davina, like me and Farhan are like 'Han, where are you from?', while in the film it's like 'Faiz, oh my god' like that," she said.

Despite that, the 23-year-old woman ensures that professionalism remains a priority during the production process. Once the camera starts rolling, she immediately sees Farhan as Faiz, the character who is her co-star in the film. "Once we are on set, I also see Farhan as Faiz. And he really gives his all in portraying Faiz," she emphasized.

Not only her relationship with Faiz, Davina also feels it is easier to build an emotional bond between Dinar and her mother. This stems from her closeness with her own mother in real life, making the needed emotions feel more natural.

"Because I feel that in this project, the relationship between Dinar and her mother is very close. The same goes for Davina with her mother, so it will be even easier to apply it in acting," she explained.

To strengthen her performance, Davina admitted to using the recall method while delving into her character. She imagines herself in Dinar's position, then adjusts her emotional responses to fit the character's calmer personality. "I am indeed the type who tends to recall or place Davina in that situation. Like, 'what would Davina be like if she were in Dinar's position? What would it be like?'" concluded Davina.

The film IF TIME COULD BE REPEATED tells the story of Dinar, who only has her mother, Mama Endang (Vonny Anggraini), who secretly hides her cancer illness and family debts. This production by FMM Studios and Langit Pictures also stars Farhan Rasyid and Bismo Satrio, and is scheduled to be released in cinemas across Indonesia starting July 30, 2026.
