Deny Marshanda's Testimony in Domestic Violence Court Against Arya Claproth, Karen Pooroe: It's Just Funny to Me

Kapanlagi.com - Deny Marshanda became a witness for Arya Claproth in the trial of alleged domestic violence against Karen Pooroe held on Tuesday (16/2/2021) at the Bandung District Court, West Java. In her testimony, she revealed two things about Karen who is none other than her former manager.

First, Marshanda said that Karen had attempted suicide twice in 2015 and 2019. Second, one of the reasons Karen intended to end her life was because she couldn't pay the band's accompanying fee of Rp 10 million.

Encountered by Kapanlagi.com in the Kebon Sirih area, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (17/2/2021), Karen Pooroe clarified the testimony given by Marshanda in court. First, regarding the suicide attempt claimed by Arya Claproth through a Whatsapp voice note.

"Now, here's the thing, I haven't talked to her (Marshanda) since 2015. So how does she know that I wanted to commit suicide? So, that means it's just hearsay, she said it herself 'Arya said it'. Meanwhile, in a trial, it means: experiencing, witnessing, and being present. If it's just hearsay, I can bring someone from the street (to say) that Karen is not like this or that," said Karen.

"To me, this is just funny. In this household, there are three people: Me, Arya, and Zevania. What I experience in my household is what my household experiences. How can other people know what happened? Did they witness it, did they experience it, did they know?" questioned this Indonesian Idol contestant.

2. Borrowing Money from Marshanda

The second point Karen Pooroe denies that she intended to commit suicide because she was confused about paying the money for the band's accompanist. Because the money from singing has been held by Arya Claproth. Instead, her husband is said to have misused other people's property rights and then borrowed from Marshanda.

"At that time, every time I worked, my money went into Mr. Arya's account. I don't know what my money was used for, but I had to pay my band members. So the money was used up. At that time, I didn't care, that money was for paying the band members, 'You use the money, you are responsible for replacing it,'" explained Karen.

"It wasn't me who borrowed (from Marshanda). Arya borrowed from Marshanda. I don't care who he borrowed from. Whether it's borrowing from Marshanda, his father, or his ancestors, it's up to him. The important thing is that my band members' money must be paid because it's not my money, it's someone else's money," she emphasized.
