Desiree Tarigan Reveals the Chronology of Her Expulsion by Hotma Sitompul, Expresses Feeling Discriminated

The mother of musician Bams Samson didn't know why her husband was cruel enough to expel her. Suddenly, she was asked to leave the house.

"Since the seventh of February, I was suddenly expelled by Mr. HS. I also don't know the reason, he just expelled me by saying 'I don't want to see your face and your belongings here. You have no right here. You can leave. You have no rights here anymore'. That night, I went back to my mother's house next door," said Desiree during a press conference in front of her and Hotma's residence in Cipete, South Jakarta, Friday (26/3/2021).

After being kicked out without knowing the reason, Desiree Tarigan decided to stay with her parents in a house located next to her residence with Hotma Sitompul. Since she left without taking anything, a few days later her husband asked for her belongings to be taken.

"Then on the 13th, my child said I was called by Dad and Dad said 'Take all your stuff, I'll give you until midnight'," Desiree explained.

Not only that, Hotma Sitompul also said he would provide a dividing fence between his house and Desiree's parents' house. This is so that his wife can no longer enter the place where she has lived for decades.

2. Feeling Oppressed

Desiree Tarigan's step to speak out publicly is because she feels oppressed. She wants to be able to return to that house and engage in her favorite cooking activities.

"If you ask why (speaking out publicly), I am oppressed. As a wife, I am not allowed to enter my own house anymore, I am oppressed. And I want to speak for women in Indonesia so that they don't get oppressed like this by their husbands or any men, where we as women should be protected, not oppressed. That's all I need to say," she concluded.
