Dewa Budjana's Story of Riding the High-Speed Train with President Jokowi

He also expressed admiration for the progress of public transportation in Indonesia, especially trains.

"I was surprised that Indonesia has reached this level, I never imagined it," said Dewa Budjana in Kemang, Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/9/2023).

Still ingrained in his memory when using trains before the use of high technology.

"In the past, I went to Jakarta in the 80s by sitting on the floor, the seats were still made of rattan, there were still egg sellers, we got on while holding our bags, afraid that someone would take them. Now, train development is better," he said.

Now, using the high-speed train, the distance between Jakarta - Bandung is only about 45 minutes. It's very different from when he used a private car.

"Imagine going to Bandung, usually it takes 2-3 hours, once it took 7 hours due to traffic, now it's 30 minutes to Padalarang, 45 minutes to Bandung. It's an extraordinary achievement, high appreciation for ideas like this," he said.

In the trial run of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train, President Jokowi was accompanied by, among others, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency Hadi Tjahjanto, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin, President Director of KAI Didiek Hartantyo, and President Director of KCIC Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi.

In addition, there were also artists and influencers, including Dewa Budjana, Vino G Bastian, Marsha Timothy, Nirina Zubir, Yuni Shara, Cak Lontong, Armand Maulana, and Raffi Ahmad.
