Kapanlagi.com - Observing the fasting of the month of Ramadan amidst the global pandemic of the corona virus (COVID-19) feels really different. If in previous years the mosque was always filled with worshipers, this time worship activities are mostly done at home.
Chandra Adi Prakoso, or better known as Chand Kelvin, also feels this difference. The 35-year-old artist also performs both obligatory and voluntary worship activities at home.
"Well, maybe the difference is that in the previous Ramadans, all worship activities were done if possible in the mosque, because if we perform obligatory worship, God willing, the rewards will be multiplied, and if we perform voluntary worship, God willing, the rewards will be like obligatory," said Chand Kelvin when contacted on Wednesday (29/4/2020).

A series of preachers conveyed in their lectures that there are exceptions to worship in extraordinary circumstances like this corona pandemic. As stated by Chand Kelvin, Muslims are allowed to perform worship activities in their own homes when affected by an outbreak.
"So, those who were previously having worship activities in the mosque, but after listening to many lectures from my teachers including Ustaz Abdul Somad, and Ustaz Adi Hidayat, they said that in situations like this, during this outbreak, we can do everything from home," he said.
Chand Kelvin added that worship that receives facilitation during the outbreak is not only prayer. I'tikaf worship, which is usually done in the mosque during the last third of the holy month of Ramadan, can also be done at home.
"Whether it's congregational prayer or i'tikaf that we usually do in the mosque for the last 10 days, especially on odd nights, can also be done at home," added Chand Kelvin.
