Dwi Andhika's Leg Swelled as Big as an Egg, Needs Surgery

Kapanlagi.com - The struggle of Dwi Andhika against his illness turns out to be heavier than expected. After being diagnosed with typhus, he actually felt other equally concerning symptoms in his legs.

While in the recovery phase from typhus, Dwi Andhika felt something strange in his legs. He initially thought it was due to overly strenuous physical training as he was preparing to climb a mountain.

"Well, but at the same time I felt that discomfort, I also felt discomfort in my legs. What's going on? Is this because of overtraining? Because I want to climb a mountain again, so I keep training lower, right?" said Dwi Andhika when met in Tendean, South Jakarta recently.

His leg condition has not improved. As time goes by, the swelling in the thigh area has actually worsened, forming a large lump that makes him panic.

"So, the typhoid has finished, but why is my leg getting more and more swollen, until it forms something like an egg in this thigh," he said.

2. Check-up at the Hospital

Worried about his condition, he decided to immediately check himself into the hospital. The examination results showed that he was suffering from a deep and dangerous soft tissue infection.

"Well, I finally decided to go to the hospital and it turned out that I had a soft tissue infection, quite deep, very deep like this, there was an abscess, and it was close to the lymph nodes and nerves and all the blood circulation there," he explained.

4. Decision for Surgery

Due to the location of the infection being very close to vital organs such as lymph nodes and nerves, the medical team decided to immediately perform surgery. The operation took quite a long time, about two hours.

"So, in the end, whether I liked it or not, I had to undergo a pretty long operation, about 2 hours, the operation was quite lengthy, you know. So that's the reason why for the past month my leg has been unstable, like limping," she concluded.

6. Requesting to Go Home Sooner

Although it was difficult, Dwi Andhika admitted that he was the one who requested to go home sooner than the scheduled time. He hopes that with better immunity at home and the spirit to resume activities, his healing process can be faster.

His decision proved to be right. Gradually, his condition continued to improve. His longing for the working world and friends became his biggest motivation to heal.
