Eko Patrio First Appears in Public After His House Was Looted, Goes to Police Headquarters to Request Suspension of Detention for a Man

Kapanlagi.com - Comedian and politician Eko Patrio made his first public appearance following the looting incident that devastated his home. Eko visited the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Friday (12/9/2025) evening to request the suspension of detention for a man named Rian.

Rian is one of the individuals who took items from Eko's house in the Kuningan area of South Jakarta during the looting on August 30, 2025. Eko explained that his purpose for coming was to establish communication and directly request the police to release Rian.

"Today I first reached out to friends at the police and requested the police earlier at the Police Headquarters to release Rian, to suspend his detention," said Eko Patrio at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Friday (12/9/2025).

1. Instead, Save the Cat

The reason behind Eko's request is truly touching. In the midst of the chaos of looting, Rian had actually saved one of Eko's beloved cats that had escaped. According to Eko, Rian had good intentions to return the cat, but he was apprehended by the authorities before he could do so.

"Why? Because Rian was the first person to take my cat, and then he saved my cat. After saving it, he also wanted to return it, but the cat was held by him before it could be returned to me, and it was taken by the police," he said.

2. Having a Moral Responsibility

Thanks to Eko's plea, that very night Rian was released and picked up by his family. Eko feels a moral responsibility for Rian's kindness in saving his pet.

"And tonight Rian went home, picked up by his family, with his older sibling and father. So I came here, this is the first time I’ve left the house and I can be free now because of Rian, simply because Rian saved my cat," said Eko.

3. Hand Over to the Police

Meanwhile, for around six other perpetrators, Eko admitted that he has forgiven them but has handed over the legal process entirely to the police.

"So there were about 7 police words, but for now, I am focused on Rian, and for the others, I actually have forgiven them, but it all depends on the police because the police have the right to this legal process," Eko explained.

4. Chronology of the House Being Looted

The residence of PAN member of parliament, Eko Hendro Purnomo alias Eko Patrio, in Kuningan, Jakarta, became the target of a mob on Saturday (30/8/2025) night. Hundreds of people came repeatedly until they finally entered the house and emptied its contents.

Heri, a security officer in the complex, explained that since 21:00 WIB, the mob had been seen gathering around the location. The situation became increasingly difficult to control because the number of people who came was far greater than the personnel on guard.

"So last night the mob had started gathering from 21:00 WIB. At 21:00 they had started arriving, maybe around 22:00 or later, the mob began to push their way inside because the defense from the military and our security was also limited. But because the mob was larger, yes, hundreds more, that was the first wave. Yes, the mob pushed into Mr. Eko's residence," said Heri when met on Sunday (31/8/2025).

5. Three Waves Occurred

According to Heri, the looting at Eko Patrio's house occurred in three waves until the early hours and lasted quite a long time. Heri explained that the first wave happened around 10:00 PM when the crowd began to arrive at Eko Patrio's house.

The second wave, which took place at 11:35 PM, was said to have a larger number of people compared to the previous one. "Well, for the demonstration last night, at 10:00 PM that was the first wave. At 11:35 PM that was the second wave, which was even bigger," said Heri.

6. Items Depleted in the Second Wave Looting

According to him, all items in the house were completely depleted during the second wave. The third wave appeared around 2:30 AM, but it was not as large as the previous ones.

"The third wave came because there were still quite a few people, but we pushed them back at the front and took three representatives to check Mr. Eko's residence inside, confirming that there were indeed no items left at all, it was all gone," he said.

7. Completely Gone

Heri added that there are still some people who are lingering at Eko Patrio's residence even though the items inside have been completely taken, including the cooking ingredients in the kitchen.

"Well, for the third wave, it’s already safe, so it has dispersed. But there are still some who are lingering. They’re still curious," added Heri.

"Everything was looted. Even corn, mustard greens, kitchen spices, all those trivial things were taken. There’s nothing left," he concluded.
