Emyr Razan Ready to be Hated by the Audience, Challenges Himself to be the Antagonist in the Series 'SAMUEL'

Emyr Razan once again showcases his acting quality by taking on the role of the antagonist in the action drama series Samuel. This young actor portrays the character Rascal, who becomes the toughest rival for Samuel Erlangga and the Diamond motorcycle gang.

The role of the main enemy presents its own challenges for Emyr in exploring his character's emotions. He has a special mission to ensure that this evil character still has an interesting side in the eyes of his loyal audience.

"I think because Rascal is an antagonist character, the challenge is how to make this antagonist character liked by many people, you know," said Emyr Razan when met in the Gandaria area, South Jakarta, Saturday (13/6/2026).

"I am always ready to be hated, because so far, almost all the titles I have taken on have mostly been antagonists," he said.

The strong background story of Samuel makes Emyr feel it is easier to explore the motivations of the character Rascal. He is greatly assisted by the excellent story development from the MD Entertainment production team. "But so far, because Samuel's story is good, Rascal's background story is also good, so I find it easier to portray it," he said.

A long-established friendship with Fadi Alaydrus in real life also greatly helps the shooting process. They can perform the conflict scenes very smoothly without any awkwardness between them. "So for example on set, even though we are acting like we are fighting, we still joke around with everyone and we already feel like family here," he said.

Emyr hopes that his acting this time can bring a different color to the drama series industry in Indonesia. He wants to prove that an antagonist can also be loved by fans because of the complexity of the story. "An antagonist but loved, that's right," he said.
