Facing First Trial in Civil Servant Recruitment Fraud Case, Olivia Nathania, Nia Daniaty's Daughter, Faces 4 Years in Prison

Kapanlagi.com - Olivia Nathania is facing her first trial in the alleged fraud case of the Civil Servant Recruitment (CPNS) at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (26/1). The trial, which was held online, included the reading of the indictment by the Public Prosecutor.

Before the trial began, the Panel of Judges asked about the condition of Nia Daniaty's daughter.

"Alhamdulillah she is healthy," answered Oi, her nickname, who was seen wearing a white shirt.

1. Threatened with 4 Years in Prison

In the indictment read by the Public Prosecutor, Olivia Nathania is threatened with four years in prison under Article 263 in conjunction with Article 65, Article 378 in conjunction with Article 65, and Article 372 in conjunction with Article 65 regarding forgery of documents and falsification or embezzlement. Olivia is also threatened with a four-year prison sentence.

"In the indictment we just heard, Olivia is charged under Article 263 in conjunction with Article 65, the second one is Article 378 in conjunction with Article 65, and Article 372 in conjunction with Article 65. In Indonesian legal language, it is about forgery of documents or fraud and/or embezzlement. If it's fraud and embezzlement, the punishment is four years," said the Public Prosecutor, Pratiwi Kusuma, who was met after the trial.

2. Response from Olivia Nathania's Side

Meanwhile, Olivia Nathania's legal counsel, Andy Mulia Siregar, responded to the indictment from the Public Prosecutor calmly and requested that his client not be fully blamed for the case.

"It's just a threat, we'll see later. So, Oi doesn't mean she's completely innocent, she has her faults, but don't put all the blame on her," said Andy Mulia Siregar.

3. There Are Other Parties Involved

Andy Mulia Siregar said that there are other parties involved in this CPNS fraud case. He also mentioned that these other parties seem to evade responsibility.

"In the indictment, it is clearly stated that Oi provided information to Agustin's mother for her child in the previous WhatsApp transcript. Then the prosecutor in his indictment explained that Agustin forwarded the information," said Andy Mulia Siregar.

"Initially, the information was only for Agustin's mother, but it spread. Agustin's side seems to evade responsibility. Agustin is a civil servant, how can a civil servant not know what this kind of thing is like? She should have knowledge whether this is true or not, this should not be spread," he continued.

4. Will Be Revealed in Court

Olivia Nathania's party already has some evidence that will be revealed in the trial.

"That's why it was said that the blame should not be solely placed on Oi. There was a conversation between Agustin's mother and Oi that we didn't know about. This will be revealed in the trial," said Andy Mulia Siregar.

The next hearing will be held on February 14th with the agenda of witnesses from the Public Prosecutor's Office.
