Failed to Become a Birthday 'Gift', Lucinta Luna's Exception Rejected by the Panel of Judges

Kapanlagi.com - The trial of the alleged drug abuse case involving Lucinta Luna was held again at the West Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (17/6/2020). This time, the agenda of the trial discussed the exception previously submitted by the legal counsel of the singer of the song Jom Jom Manjalita.

After careful consideration, the Panel of Judges finally decided to reject Lucinta's legal counsel's exception in its entirety. As known, the content of the exception was the cancellation of the charges against Lucinta.

"Rejecting the objections submitted by the defendant's legal counsel in its entirety. Thus, the indictment from the public prosecutor is declared valid and can be used as a basis in the trial and further instructs the public prosecutor to continue the settlement of the case," said the Chief Judge, followed by the sound of the gavel.

As a result of the decision, the trial of the alleged drug abuse case involving Lucinta Luna will proceed to the main case. The next hearing will be held next Wednesday with the agenda of witnesses from the Public Prosecutor's Office.

As known, Lucinta Luna was arrested and designated as a suspect of drug abuse by the West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit on February 11. From the arrest, the police confiscated 2 ecstasy pills and 7 riklona pills as evidence.

In the indictment hearing, Lucinta was charged with Article 112 paragraph (1) or Article 127 paragraph (1) of the Indonesian Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics and Article 60 paragraph (3) or Article 62 of Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning psychotropics.

2. Failed Birthday Gift

Tuesday (16/6) was supposed to be a special day for Lucinta Luna. It was her 31st birthday. Besides not being able to celebrate it as usual, her hope for the court to accept the exception was actually rejected.

"Well, we just called and video called. So, on her birthday, we could video call. So we could say happy birthday. It's sad, she cried when she saw the video I shared. Crying during the video call," said Lucinta's partner, Abash, when met at the West Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (17/6).
