The change of host from Daniel to Boy William has sparked many speculations from the public. However, Daniel stated that he himself chose Boy William. 

This was revealed when he was a guest on Maia Estianty's YouTube channel. Maia conveyed that the change of host was purely Daniel Mananta's own desire.

"If I'm not mistaken, who came up with the idea of Boy William? It was you. So, there you go, viewers, netizens, the one who came up with the idea of Boy William as his replacement is Daniel himself," said Maia Estianty as quoted from the MAIA ALELDUL TV YouTube channel.

Curious, Maia Estianty asked Daniel Mananta what his reasons were for choosing Boy William as his replacement. Daniel said that currently, Boy William is the suitable choice to be the host of the latest season of Indonesian Idol.

"Why choose Boy William? Is Boy William better than you?" Maia Estianty asked. 

"Actually, in my opinion, yes. Because right now he is more relevant to millennials, more relevant to the market of the generation below me," Daniel answered. 

2. Boy Becomes Brand Ambassador of Indonesian Idol

Daniel continued, at that time he also had to persuade RCTI as the organizer of Indonesian Idol. And it turns out, he had strong reasons why Boy William is the right person for this event. 

"I hope that Boy can be the new brand ambassador of Indonesian Idol. But of course, it's up to RCTI's approval," said the 38-year-old man.

"I just said 'I recommend Boy'. But he has already been on X-Factor, Rising Star, and such', but I said 'yes, but I believe he will be better on Indonesian Idol. How can you be so sure? Because I am mentoring him', that's what I said," he concluded.
