Fariz RM Relaxes in Facing Syahravi's Counter Report, Emphasizes Permission Must Be Written

Kapanlagi.com - Musician Fariz RM is unfazed by the counter report filed by Syahravi over alleged defamation. Through his attorney, Deolipa Yumara, Fariz is said to remain calm because he believes all the statements made so far are based on facts.

Deolipa stated that defamation accusations cannot be imposed if the information provided is indeed true. According to him, the element of defamation can only be questioned if someone conveys false information.

"Now, if this is then conveyed by Fariz RM, what has been defamed? All of this person's stories are facts. So what is meant by defamation is if this is not a fact," said Deolipa at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Tuesday (30/6/2026).

He emphasized that his side is ready to face the ongoing legal process. According to Deolipa, all statements made by Fariz RM so far have a basis, so there is no reason for his client to feel worried about the report.

In addition to responding to the counter-report, Deolipa also provided an explanation regarding the claim of a meeting between Fariz RM and Syahravi. According to him, the meeting cannot be interpreted as a form of approval or permission to use the copyrighted work of Fariz RM.

He explained that in copyright matters, permission must be granted through a clear mechanism and have legal force. Simply meeting or chatting, he said, cannot be considered as evidence that permission to use the song has been granted.

"A legal meeting is accompanied by a signed power of attorney to sing the song, everything must be in writing, in black and white. That was just an ordinary meeting," he asserted.

2. Fariz Says Permission Must Be in an Agreement

Deolipa added that the permission to use the copyrighted work should be documented in a written agreement agreed upon by both parties. Without such a document, she believes that no permission was ever granted to Syahravi.

"So what’s lacking from the 'S' earlier is that he did not obtain permission. This permission should be in writing with an agreement. That doesn't exist," she explained.

In the midst of the ongoing legal process, Deolipa assures that Fariz RM remains calm. She stated that her client is not burdened by the counter-report because he feels that all the steps taken so far have been in accordance with the facts and the applicable legal corridors.

"Oh he’s just fine, relaxed because he always speaks the truth, right?" she revealed.
