"What surprised me, honestly, I’m opening up here, is that Lolly joined the tarawih prayer while menstruating. Can you imagine that?" said Umar in the Epicentrum area, South Jakarta, on Monday (7/10/2024).
Umar felt confused seeing Lolly continue to perform the tarawih prayer despite being on her period. "I even thought whether she (Lolly) was never taught in her family or what about the proper rules in Islam? In the end, I told her to go back home," he said.
The incident occurred in the month of Ramadan, when Muslims observe fasting and perform tarawih prayers. Lolly's actions made Umar feel the need to provide further advice.
"When did that happen, Mr. Umar?" asked Razman Arif Nasution, surprised to hear the story. "During Ramadan, sir, precisely during the fasting month," said Umar.
In addition, Umar also reprimanded Lolly about her way of dressing. He wanted Lolly to pay more attention to her appearance to align with Islamic teachings as a Muslim woman.
"Honestly, I don't like her way of dressing because she tends to wear sexy and revealing clothes. I told her how to be a good woman until she finally chose to wear the hijab," said Umar.
