The Indonesian Ulama Council (MUI) issued a fatwa regarding the recommendation to perform prayers at home.
Kapanlagi.com - Ustaz Yusuf Mansur talks about the MUI fatwa which advises performing prayers at home. Many people misunderstood the fatwa, some even say that they fear the Corona virus more than God.
He also understands if there are differences regarding the fatwa. He himself has closed all mosques under the control of Darul Tauhid and Darul Quran, following the MUI fatwa.

"Of course, we must respect those differences. If that's what they believe, it's okay to still pray in the mosque. But for mosques under the control of Darul Tauhid and Darul Quran, we have closed them. There is no story, not even a single congregant," he said when contacted by phone on Wednesday (18/3).
Not only mosques, but Darul Quran boarding schools are also closed. This is to avoid concerns about the spread of the Corona virus, which is growing every day.
"Yes, starting today exactly (the pesantren is closed). As for the students, they have been sent home since yesterday, March 12-13. And our decision was correct. Because our concerns are spreading. Finally, transportation will also be difficult and other things," he added.
"Alhamdulillah, we were right, at least when the parents were worried, their children were by their side, and the children were by their parents' side. That's better, right?" he concluded.
