Ferry Irawan Pays Iddah Alimony of Rp 30 Million to Venna Melinda, Can Only Afford 200 Thousand

Kapanlagi.com - Actor Ferry Irawan has not decided whether to accept or appeal the decision of the South Jakarta Religious Court regarding his divorce case with Venna Melinda.

Before pronouncing the divorce, he is required to pay iddah alimony and mut'ah to Venna Melinda, each amounting to Rp 30 million.

"The South Jakarta Religious Court gives a period of 14 days after the decision is made, to appeal or not? And we are still considering it. Because of this iddah alimony and mut'ah. Because this alimony must be paid first before the divorce can take place," said Khairul Imam, the legal representative of Ferry Irawan when met in Jakarta, Saturday (5/8/2023).

The obligation to pay mut'ah and iddah alimony each amounting to Rp 30 million is considered burdensome for Ferry Irawan, who is currently still in prison.

"In the current situation, it is very unlikely. Mas Ferry is behind bars and has no income. How can he provide alimony," said Sunan Kalijaga, another legal representative of Ferry Irawan.

2. Can Only Afford 200 Thousand

Ferry Irawan, through his legal representative, said he can only afford to pay iddah and mut'ah alimony of Rp 200 thousand.

"The amount my client can provide is only 200 thousand for mut'ah alimony," he said.

3. Considered Not Divorced

According to Khairul Imam, if Ferry Irawan cannot pay iddah and mut'ah alimony according to the Judge's decision, then Ferry Irawan and Venna Melinda are considered not divorced.

"And the consequence if the obligation (to pay mut'ah and iddah alimony as determined by the Judge) is not fulfilled, then the divorce is canceled, meaning there is no divorce. They are together again," said Khairul Imam.

4. Revoke Judge's Decision

Therefore, Khairul Imam hopes that Venna Melinda will have the heart to revoke the Judge's decision regarding his counterclaim.

"Mas Ferry cannot implement this, sister Venna just needs to say (to the Judge) 'I have no problem with this, I want to separate'. It's done," said Khairul Imam.

5. Ferry Irawan's Divorce

For your information, the divorce case between Ferry Irawan and Venna Melinda has been decided by the South Jakarta Religious Court on August 3, 2023. In the decision, the Judge granted Ferry Irawan's divorce petition and requested him to immediately declare talak divorce.

However, on the other hand, the Judge also granted Venna Melinda's counterclaim, sentencing Ferry Irawan to pay Rp 30 million for iddah and mut'ah respectively to Venna Melinda before declaring talak and officially divorced.
