First Son Purwaniatun 'Si Mbok' Tells the Chronology of His Mother's Death

Kapanlagi.com - Purwaniatun passed away on March 23, 2020. Previously, Purwaniatun underwent a surgery to remove uterine cancer cells. Because the number of cancer cells in her body was still small, this actress, who is famous for her role as a housemaid, requested to undergo the surgery herself.

Purwaniatun's family supported her decision to undergo the surgery. Although she was previously declared healthy, some of Purwaniatun's vital organs did not function properly after the surgery.

"There was nothing wrong. So before the surgery, she was one hundred percent fit and ready, with no complaints at all, and she wanted and asked to undergo the surgery. Then, because she was exposed to it, there were only a few cancer cells and hopefully they could be immediately removed, so our family supported the removal of the cancer. However, along the way, some organs were affected," said Sigit Bayu Kuncoro, Purwaniatun's eldest son, when met at the funeral home in Pondok Kelapa area, East Jakarta, on Monday (3/23).

According to the explanation from her eldest son, Purwaniatun initially suffered from uterine cancer which was eventually removed last month. After undergoing the cancer removal surgery, there is a possibility that Purwaniatun was exposed to another disease that caused her kidney and lung conditions to deteriorate before finally passing away.

"My mother was sick, suspected of having uterine cancer, which was removed last month. Then after this operation, she might have been exposed to another disease. Finally, her kidney condition deteriorated and because she had been in the ICU for a long time and her lungs were also not functioning properly. At 10:27 AM, she passed away," said Sigit Bayu Kuncoro.

2. No Complaints

Before undergoing the uterine cancer removal surgery, Purwaniatun was still declared healthy. However, Sigit Bayu Kuncoro stated that the passing of his mother was God's will.

"Previously, there were no issues. When she entered the hospital/ICU, she was in perfect health and fit for the uterine cancer removal surgery. Her condition was fine, but we leave everything to Allah. Perhaps it was destined," said Sigit Bayu Kuncoro.
