Former Gardener Reveals the Kindness of Marissa Haque, She and Her Brother Were Educated Until They Graduated from College

Kapanlagi.com - Bambang, the former gardener who once worked for Marissa Haque's family, shares his deep memories of the late figure. Not only did he work at Marissa's house, but he was also funded for school by the renowned artist and politician.

"I used to work here in the morning and go to school in the afternoon, or sometimes the other way around. After about 2-3 months, Mrs. Ica (Marissa Haque) asked me, 'Bambang, are you still in school?' I replied, yes, Ma'am. Then she said, 'Later, ask your mother to come here, I want to talk to your mother,'" reminisced Bambang.

After the promised meeting, Bambang and his mother came to see Marissa. At that time, unexpectedly, Marissa offered to fund Bambang's and his brother's education.

"My brother and I were funded for school. After that, I continued to work, but my school fees were still covered by Mrs. Ica," said Bambang.

Bambang recounts how his job at that time was as a gardener. "I am a gardener, cleaning the pond, picking up leaves every morning," he explained.

He started working in 1998, before the monetary crisis hit Indonesia. In the midst of the crisis, Marissa was not only concerned about her family affairs but also about the workers in her house.

"I had the chance to work with mother (Marissa) before the riots in 1998. We bought a lot of raw materials for preparation," Bambang revealed.

According to Bambang, Marissa Haque is a generous person who always pays attention to those around her. "Mrs. Ica is very kind. If there is a blessing, she surely remembers the household staff, the cook, the cleaner, the gardener, everyone. That’s something I can’t forget," said Bambang.

2. Always Generous

Bambang even remembers how Marissa always gave pocket money to her workers every time she returned from shooting. "I was once given 500 thousand. Back then, that was a lot of money, I used it to buy a laptop. Mrs. Ica was never stingy, very generous," he said.

Bambang truly feels the loss of Marissa Haque, who was very charitable. "I feel very, very lost. That woman was truly good, generous, and always remembered the people who worked for her," concluded Bambang.
