Asri Welas and her husband, Galiech Ridha Rahardja, appeared before the media after attending a continued divorce hearing at the Depok Religious Court (PA) on Tuesday (3/12/2024).
During the session that lasted more than 20 minutes, they shared stories about the difficult decision they had to make regarding their marriage that was on the brink of separation.
When speaking about her marital journey, Asri Welas could not hide her sadness.
Wearing sunglasses, she wiped her tears several times as her husband recounted their household situation. That moment showed just how emotional the process they were undergoing was.
"There is no good divorce. Don't emulate it, but this (decision) is made because of our mutual agreement. So there is no such thing as a good divorce, we just have to take it together because we have discussed how to handle it well," said Asri Welas to the media crew.
Although they have to part ways, Asri emphasized that their relationship remains well-maintained.
"There is no such thing as a broken family, there isn't, we are still a family just not husband and wife anymore," she said.
He also ensures that communication with the children remains smooth. "Still good, also good with the kids. All is well," he said.
At the end of his statement, a touching moment occurred when Asri and Galiech hugged each other. This moment showed their support for one another despite having to go through a separation. After that, they both walked together towards the car, leaving the Depok Religious Court.
