Gus Miftah's Value Still Worthy as the President's Special Envoy, Bang Madit: If the Intent is Good, It Can Still Be Improved

Although many regret his statements in a viral video, some still believe Gus Miftah is worthy of continuing to carry this mandate, one of whom is Ramdhani Hasbullah, also known as Bang Madit.

When met in the Cempaka Putih area, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (4/5/2025), Bang Madit described Gus Miftah as a figure who has been able to deliver his preaching in a joyful and educational manner.

"Well, if you ask me, Gus Miftah is good at delivering his preaching in a joyful way, providing good education for the people," said Bang Madit.

1. Great Responsibility

He acknowledges that all humans must have made mistakes, including public figures like Gus Miftah. However, these mistakes are considered forgivable and serve as material for self-reflection.

"So let’s just forgive him if he still has good intentions, still has improvements, God willing, hopefully in the future it will also be a lesson," he said.

According to Bang Madit, being a public figure indeed requires great responsibility, especially in maintaining speech and actions. He refers to this as part of the trust and guidance that not everyone can undertake.

"One must maintain speech, maintain actions, and uphold morals; that’s why not everyone who is given the trust to be a preacher becomes a leader of the community," he stated.

2. Public Voices Considered

When asked about the possibility of Gus Miftah continuing to serve as the president's special envoy, Bang Madit left the decision entirely to President Prabowo. Nevertheless, he hopes that public opinion will also be taken into account.

"Whether it's appropriate or not, the President has the prerogative right in this matter," emphasized Bang Madit.

He believes that as long as Gus Miftah still has good intentions and shows improvement, there is nothing wrong with maintaining his position.

3. Big Lesson

"Let’s just pray, hopefully, even if there is no replacement, Gus Miftah will be retained, hopefully, this will be a valuable lesson for him and for us," he continued.

For Bang Madit, this momentum can actually serve as a big lesson for all parties, especially in maintaining morals and ethics in public spaces.

"Especially we can take very valuable lessons to keep our words, to maintain our actions, to uphold our morals," he concluded.
