Haico Van Der Veken Admits Having a Boyfriend, But No Plans for Marriage

“Something sacred, symbolizing that both partners have committed for a lifetime. So it's not something trivial,” said Haico when met in West Jakarta area, Thursday (27/10/2023).

Although Haico now has a partner, she admitted to having a strong desire to get married and form a family.

“If I want to get married. I want to get married, have a family, children,” Haico said while laughing.

1. No Specific Target

Although she has a desire to get married and have children, Haico does not have a specific target to end her single life.

“In the past, I used to set targets, like all girls when they're still young, wanting to get married young and all that,” she said.

“For me now, I'm already 21 (years old), it's already an age where many people get married. So for me personally, I don't have a specific target, if it's already destined, both parties are ready, why not,” she added.

Haico explained that currently, she and her boyfriend do not have concrete marriage plans. However, they are in a serious relationship.

2. Personal Readiness

“If it's heading in that direction, not yet, but the purpose of dating is also for something serious,” she said.

Despite her positive view on marriage, Haico also admitted that she does not feel afraid when seeing other women who are already married. For her, what's important is personal readiness, and at the moment, she feels not ready for that step.

“It's not fear, it's more like when I see other people getting married, I'm like oh if it's for that, I'm not ready for it now. Especially if both parties are not ready, so it's like, let's wait for a while, let's see later, something like that,” she concluded.
