Kapanlagi.com - The Indonesian fashion industry is in mourning. Renowned designer Hengki Kawilarang passed away at the age of 47, on Friday (20/62025) at 10:16 AM. This sad news was conveyed by the family through a post on Hengki Kawilarang's official Instagram account.
"Innalillahi wainna ilaihi rojiun, our family member Hengki Candra Kusuma Kawilarang bin Yohan Ahmad Fauzi Kawilarang has returned to Allah. We apologize for any wrongdoings, both in words and actions that may have hurt anyone's feelings," was written in the Instagram story post @hengkikawilarang_id, on Friday (20/6).
The body of Hengki was buried in BTN Margaasih, Bandung Regency, West Java. As of now, the cause of death of this proud Indonesian designer is still unknown.
He had a career spanning almost two decades and his works were often worn by top Indonesian celebrities such as Kris Dayanti and Vina Panduwinata. Hengki also showcased his collections on prestigious international stages, including New York Fashion Week in 2023 and 2024/2025.
