Verrell Bramasta, who was recently inaugurated as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, is now under public scrutiny. Several criticisms have emerged, particularly regarding his statement about not taking a salary for a year and his decision not to fully leave the acting world.

Recently, the eldest son of Ivan Fadilla was also criticized for appearing engrossed with his phone while participating in activities at the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) of the Republic of Indonesia.

In response to the flowing criticisms, Venna Melinda, a former member of the House and also Verrell's mother, shared her views. According to her, as a public official, Verrell indeed must be prepared to receive various inputs, both positive and negative.

"His name becomes a public official. There will definitely be criticism, suggestions, and input," said Venna Melinda when met at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Monday (14/10/2024).

Venna also invited the public to express their criticism towards Verrell. She believes that such criticism will help her son grow into a better politician.

"Just consider it all as a learning experience," she said briefly

Venna Melinda is confident that Verrell will not be emotionally affected by the criticism he receives. She emphasized that Verrell has prepared himself to face the consequences of being a public official.

"Alhamdulillah, Verrell already understands the consequences of being a public official," he said optimistically.

In response to allegations that Verrell was just playing on his phone at Lemhanas, Venna provided clarification. She stated that Verrell was actually reviewing important materials.

"Verrell is actually not playing on his phone. He is at Lemhanas, and he is looking at materials. It's already clarified, so it's clear now," she concluded.
