His House Also Affected by Disaster, Eko Patrio Still Helps Flood Victims in Jakarta

Kapanlagi.com - Comedian and member of the DPR Eko Patrio became a victim of the floods that hit Jakarta yesterday. Nevertheless, out of humanity, he still provided assistance to other people.

"So this is Bidara Cina, the fifth point. Since morning, we have been going around, Keramat Jati, Cawang, Cililitan, tomorrow we will go to West Jakarta, North Jakarta, and so on. It's purely a matter of humanity," said Eko.

"We also want to see how it is after the flood. During the flood, there were many who supported, helped, and so on. But what about after? That's why I invited the leaders of the council in the DPRD to discuss post-flood needs," he explained in the Bidara Cina area, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, on Friday (03/01/2020).

1. Provide Assistance Immediately

He added that he came to the flood-affected area to assess the situation afterwards. He wanted to know what needs and what diseases had occurred so that assistance could be provided immediately.

"I always see negligence after the disaster. That's why we ask the neighborhood head (lurah) about it. Alhamdulillah, basic needs are fulfilled. For example, clean water, food, and we also happen to provide support," he explained.

"And after the disaster, there are respiratory diseases and others. We also know that there were deaths due to post-flood cases. Hopefully, our good deeds will be accepted by Allah and the families left behind will be given strength. That's what we do," Eko continued.

2. Eko Patrio's House Flooded

However, despite being a comedian aged 49 whose house is located in the Cipinang Indah area, he also experienced flooding. He explained that the condition of his house was more or less the same as the houses of flood victims that he was visiting.

"That's what I call the sense of humanity. On one hand, we support and help our friends and relatives. On the other hand, my house is also flooded. Everything is gone, even the basement is flooded," Eko explained.

"Coincidentally, at that time, I was not at home. I was out of town. Well, I just surrendered and endured. We can't blame anyone. Let's strengthen each other," he concluded.
