Humanitarian Demonstration Held at Vanessa Angel's Grave, Rejecting Doddy Sudrajat's Plan to Move the Corpse

The plan to move the grave has led the Barisan Ksatria Nusantara of the DKI Jakarta province to hold a humanitarian action around the TPU Taman Islam Malaka Ululjami, where Vanessa and her husband were buried. They reject the exhumation of the grave and the relocation of the artist's remains.

1. Action to Reject Demolition

The humanitarian demonstration to reject the demolition and relocation of Vanessa Angel's grave is considered reasonable to be carried out. Because this issue has become public consumption, so all of Indonesia finally pays attention to it.

"According to us all, this grave demolition is no longer a private matter, but it has been consumed by the public. Therefore, we emphasize that our movement today rejects the demolition of the grave that will be carried out by Doddy Sudrajat," said Ahmad Qais, the coordinator of the action, on Saturday morning (12/2/2022).

2. Speaking from a Religious Perspective

According to Ahmad Qais, the demolition of graves and the relocation of the remains inside should not be done recklessly. It is a matter of religious perspective.

"When discussing the demolition of graves, we are already discussing the remains inside. When talking about remains, from a religious perspective, they must be treated with care after death. From bathing to burial, it should be done slowly, especially when being buried. It has entered the grave, if it is to be moved, it will be very hurtful," said Ahmad Qais.

3. The Urgency of Relocation

However, if you want to be moved, there are many regulations that must be followed. Moreover, there is no urgency for Doddy Sudrajat to do so.

"The relocation of the grave must have clear reasons. For example, for forensic needs or natural disasters," he said firmly.

As previously known, Doddy Sudrajat plans to move Vanessa Angel's grave after 100 days since her passing. The body will be moved from TPU Taman Islam Malaka in West Jakarta to TPU Karet Bivak in South Jakarta.

According to plan, Vanessa's body will be stacked in her biological mother's grave who passed away earlier. However, so far, the TPU Karet Bivak has not received any registration process from Doddy's side.

5. Waiting for the Day

Puput Soedrajat, the stepmother of the late Vanessa, emphasized that the transfer of her daughter's grave is just waiting for the right day. Regarding permits, she mentioned that it has been taken care of.

"We are currently waiting for everything to be arranged, as everyone is still recovering from COVID-19. The important thing is that all the permits are ready, we may just need to wait for the right day. We will be informed later, as it must be ensured because it's not something trivial," said Puput.
