Inara Rusli Falls Ill, Lawyer Reveals Struggle to Reclaim Child from Virgoun

Unpleasant news comes from Inara Rusli. The former wife of Virgoun is reported to have fallen ill amid the escalating custody battle for their children. Inara's lawyer, Daru Quthny, confirmed that his client was unable to attend the press conference due to her declining health.

According to Daru, Inara actually has full custody of her three children based on a court ruling that has become final up to the cassation level. However, the reality on the ground tells a different story. Virgoun is said to still have control over their children and is reluctant to return them to Inara.

"Well, Inara is asking for her child to be returned. What is the basis for this? Because between Inara and her ex, Virgoun, there has already been a divorce decree. Where Inara has a right known as the right of custody, the right to care for the child until the child is of discernment," she said when met in the Cipete area, South Jakarta, Wednesday (4/2/2026).

The initial 'detention' of the child occurred in mid-November. Virgoun picked up the children on the grounds that Inara was facing legal issues. However, as time passed, Inara felt it was time for the children to return to her embrace as the rightful custodian.

Inara even attempted a persuasive effort by visiting Virgoun's house alone. Unfortunately, the effort did not yield results. She returned empty-handed without being able to bring her child along.

"But it has not been given, the child has not been allowed to be picked up until this moment. Indeed, a few days ago, about two or three days ago, Inara did come," explained Daru Quthny.

Inara's side regrets the narrative built by Virgoun's side, as if Inara is unworthy of raising the child because she is facing legal issues. In fact, according to Daru, the legal problems faced by Inara do not automatically invalidate her custody rights as a mother.

Now, Inara's legal team is preparing decisive actions to fight for their client's rights. They hope that the children do not become victims in the parents' dispute and can soon return to their mother's custody in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.

"Therefore, for the sake of the law and for the welfare of the children, we as legal representatives will continue and take firm action to proceed with the next legal steps to realize the decision of the Supreme Court," he concluded.
